“And you know the way where I am going” ~John 14:4.

A month ago I drove down to Las Cruces, New Mexico to take my National Board Exam.  For years I have had major test anxiety.  I had absolutely no problems with classwork, writing 1500 word papers, or answering weekly questions but the minute I saw a quiz or test my chest would constrict and I would have trouble breathing.  This has been my lot in life from a little child til very recently.  (more…)

The Big “C”

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance” Romans 5:3.

Today, one of the strongest women I know went in for surgery to have her breasts and some lymph nodes removed.  She is beautiful.  She faces every challenge with great determination.  She has an indescribable joy that blows me away.  Her smile is the most infectious anyone has ever seen.  People flock to her.  She can ALWAYS be counted on.  She is dedicated to serving others with a positive attitude.  Her husband adores her.  Her kids know her value.  She is respected.  Those who meet her go out of their way to show her love.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you” I Peter 5:6-7.

Over the years I have heard many myths about what the Bible says.  The one that is my biggest pet peeve is, “God won’t give me more than I can handle.”  WRONG!  (more…)

“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.  If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10.

Since I was a little girl my Daddy would take me out on a date for our birthdays.  His was four days away from mine so we made it an annual thing to celebrate together.  There were years that we celebrated by eating at Taco Bell and others were we sat and talked; it was our special time.  Fast forward about thirty plus of those special annual days to the very last time I got to spend my birthday with him. Life is meant to be salty…

“Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge.  I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.”  Psalm 57:1

There have been many times in my life that I have questioned God as to why certain things are happening; pain, loss, harm, anger, etc.  Many of the people who I have counseled have asked the same things.  I have even heard family members and Christian friends asking why does He do these things to me? I am YOURS.

“The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” Job 33:4

Have you ever been told something about yourself that did not sit well with you?  I have, to be honest, many times.  Some were not the least bit true and were eating at me because I let the devil take hold of that comment and allowed him to poison me with it, somewhat damaging me forever.  Then there have been times when someone has said something to me with pieces of truth to it and I have still allowed the devil to corrupt what was meant for good into nasty negativity. Sticky Fingers = Lesson Learned

“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.” Proverbs 3:7

Yesterday I was working on a project that has taken me nearly nine months to do.  I purchased an antique teaching pulpit for my birthday in January.  It was really rough around the edges because someone had covered up the wood with some tacky green paint.  I knew I would need to strip the paint, sand it, clean it and then varnish it before I could move it upstairs to my bedroom but seeing is how I am extremely busy it would be a project that would be done a little at a time.
