His Words, not mine.

“Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity” I Timothy 4:12.

I haven’t been very faithful with writing in my blog.  I felt very blah about writing.  I go through several rough patches throughout the year when it comes to writing.  I have chalked it up to writer’s block.  I have chalked it up to being distracted with other things in life.  Yes, those are real things but looking at it from a different vantage point I think the real issue is insecurity. “People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy” Proverbs 28:13.

There are people I have come across, since renewing my life to Christ over twelve years ago, that are blatantly sinning and those with hidden sins.  There are those who believe they are basically good people and wonder why their lives are not running smoothly but those who are blatantly sinning seem to have everything together.  (more…)

“For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough”     2 Corinthians 11:4.

I have been holding off because I thought this issue would just go away.  I thought people would have some more sense than this but clearly I have been giving society too much credit.  I am floored that there is yet another insignificant thing being treated like the be all end all to Christ:  A RED CUP!  Are you kidding me? “But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you will walk in all the way which I command you, that it may be well with you'” Jeremiah 7:23.

Now I am a bit too young to know exactly what occurred during the ’70’s but something powerful occurred that has recently caught my attention.  I had vaguely heard of this movement when I was younger but due to the religion I was raised in I was told that the “movement” was of Satan. (more…)

I Judge Others!

“Be on your guard. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.” Luke 17:3
Confession time, I judge others.  There I said it and I am not really sure there is anything wrong with that but let me explain why.
The Lord tells us not to judge, lest we be judged and of course I agree with that, however, I do not agree with the world’s view of judgement.  Another version of this verse is: “Watch yourselves! If your brother or sister sins, warn them to stop. If they change their hearts and lives, forgive them.”  The words brother/sister are not meant to be biological sibling but instead sibling in Christ.  The word judgement or to judge is interpreted differently within today’s society, even some Christians, as it was described by Christ.  (more…)

“A fool vents all of his feelings, but a wise man holds them back.”  Proverbs 29:11

Forward or direct would be a kind way of explaining who I am.  I have had a handful of people tell me over the years that they take offense to my way of addressing issues.  This is clearly an area of struggle for me because I know what my heart feels but what comes out of my mouth creates tension in others; completely not my intent but intent doesn’t always matter. “Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.” I Peter 3:8

Last night I had a great time with my home fellowship group.  It is no secret that I love talking about the topic of God.  I truly enjoy listening to all of their input and ideas.  I have never felt more relaxed than being around fellow Christians but is it supposed to be that way?

In our discussion, we talked about being in our “Christian” bubbles.  Once a person gets saved they get comfortable; not always but most of the time that is where they stay.  I am really guilty of that.  I used to have a lot of non-Christian friends but those same friends were the ones who gave me the excuse to do non-Christian things.  I used to smoke, drink, curse, belittle people, carry around hatred and bitterness, and some things that I really do not care to mention but lets just say I broke every commandment. (more…)
